The Art Club is open to all Art III and Art IV Lewis County High School students. Art II students with special permission may also become members. The Art Club is very active with school events, sporting events, community events, art shows and competitions.

Activities that the Art Club is involved in are decorating for the Veteran’s Day program and for local pageants. Throughout the sports seasons they paint the football field for each home game, do face paintings to enhance school spirit, and make many of the banners that are used at the games and for special nights at the events, such as senior night.

In relation to community activities, they are involved in the canned food drive, the Angel tree, and the Soldiers in Service.

Each year they have a Spring Art Show to showcase the talented work that the art students have created throughout the year.

For the last year and a half they have actively been involved in the County Quilt Trail project by painting many of the wooden quilt squares that are placed on the various barns throughout the county. During the summer the art club was awarded the Chamber of Commerce BEST of the BEST Meriwether Lewis Award for the Quilt Trail in conjunction with the Lewis County Extension Office.
